Description
Drimnagh Castle Secondary School is a secondary school in Dublin who's students have taken the initiative to raise awareness on the seriousness of bullying, especially cyber-bullying. According to a spokesperson Maureen Bolger of teenline “social media is part of the daily life of young people and is here to stay. The best protection against bullying on the internet is to recognize it when it happens and to know how to deal with arising issues”. The students involved in this week feel it’s vital to publicize this message as widely as possible through as many mediums as possible.
The students have already been actively involved in making video presentations, printing leaflets and running poster competitions within the school. Their efforts to raise awareness will hopefully encourage other schools around the country to do the same and prevent cyber-bullying.
