A cross genre musical experiment where the artists and audience work together to discuss and create the music. See us at music festivals across Ireland!
Sonic Whispers wants to explore three wildly diverse genres of music; Punk, Traditional and Electronic through discussion and a live music experiment.
How it works!
There are three bands from each genre and the night is divided into two parts.
The first part is a short performance by each band and a Q&A into the song writing process
The second part is a unique and interactive sound experiment where the audience gets to gain an insight into the creative process. While two bands are back stage and cannot hear what is happening, our first band joins us on stage. They improvise a song and leave for backstage. Then, the next band is brought on stage and will try to reinterpret the song played by the previous band; however there is a catch!
The band will be relying on the audience for their cues and clues of how and what to play. What was the rhythm, can you remember the lyrics, how about the structure of the verse!? This is repeated with the last band and finishes in a live jam with all three bands!
Sonic Whispers is a playful, insightful, and utterly unique evening that will explore both the idiosyncrasies of the genres, and the underlying harmonies of all musical expression.
