“Help! My daughter’s lunchbox came home full today, I’m worried she’ll be hungry & won’t be at her best” Don’t worry, my daughter’s lunch box came home untouched today too (& I’m in the classroom with her). After the Montessori class wash their hands, set their table and open their lunchboxes, they have 40 minutes to eat. This is a very demanding and overwhelming time for the children, sitting face to face with five peers at the table, manoeuvring their new chair, chatting, observing, comparing, unwrapping, visiting the toilet, visiting the bin, visiting other tables and trying to decide what should be eaten first verses what parents would like them to eat first. As we settle in, the children will become more able to predict their daily routine and manage their time and food more accordingly. As they become more comfortable in their environment , tummy’s will also begin to feel more relaxed. #ittakestime #transitions

A gentle reminder to our High Hopes community that parents are not permitted to park, turn or pull into the school car park. The zig zag lines on the road indicates a ‘No-Parking Zone’ too. This includes no drop offs or pick ups. Children must be supervised when entering & exiting the car park on foot and should not be allowed to run freely upon arrival. #thinksafety #childrenfirst
