Finishing up in Sober Lane Cork for an after party with some Jazz, party food & a raffle!! Details for next Saturday 22nd October - Cork Zombie Walk 2016 Meet at the Opera House at 6PM for registration and photos and last minute make up touches!! We are asking everyone to donate €5 to the Irish Guide Dogs so this will be a fundraiser in memory of Lorraine Shanahan - as all the events Lols ran were to raise money for charity and this charity in particular was very close to Lorraine's heart. There will be Dogs in from the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind to walk with us on the night. The walk itself will start at 7pm The walk will take us down Tuckey Street to one of Lorraine's favourite places her shop Inkoholiks so we can combine all the things she loved on the night Currently we do not have a venue to continue on with an after party so if anyone has any suggestions or any contacts please get in touch. ****************Cork Zombie Walk 2016 ******************** Dedicated to the memory of the original organiser, my sister Lorraine Shanahan The Zombie Walk, will take place on the 22nd October 2016.... more details to follow. Lorraine put everything into this event it was her favourite event to organise every year. I know we are a bit late getting the ball rolling to announce this years event but it has been a very tough year without Lols in our lives, and while my heart isn't in organising this without my Lolly, it would be wrong for it not to go ahead. I can't even explain the joy it gave Lols to be surrounded by everyone in "Zombie Mode" or the effort she went to with her costumes every year, she loved this event so so much. Open Day in Memory of Lorraine Shanahan at the Irish Guide Dogs

Hi Katriona here Lorraine's sister. We would like to invite everyone who has supported us with our fundraisers this year in memory of our lovely Lollie to an Open day at the Irish Guide Dogs on Sunday at 12. We will be presenting a cheque for €47,000 which is all the money raised in Lorraine's Memory so far this year for the Irish Guide Dogs. I would just like to send an open invite to everyone that has supported us over the last number of months, to call in on Sunday for a tour of the Centre and for the presentation of the Cheque. We are delighted with the success of all the Fundraisers this year, while our hearts may not have been truly in it, they have given us a purpose and a reason to get out of bed every day. We hope we did our Lorraine Shanahan proud Next event in the pipeline in Memory of Lorraine is of course was her favourite event of the year... The Corkzombie Walk. If any event was to go ahead it had to be this one!! More details will follow and I will be asking for help soon if anyone is interested in working with us to make this event really special in memory of our Lollie. Today I closed the door to Sorry Mom, it's not too long ago that myself and Lols were going through all the catalogs picking out the dresses to stock the shop. When she first got the shop I was telling her I would paint the shop Duck Egg blue she panicked when I had the keys and picked Popsickle Pink and Buzz Blue......there was more panic when she realised we had created what we thought looked like the inside of a Barbie house but she had so many plans involving Zombies and Tentacles she knew it was going to be OK! All the nights we spent there me with 10 rolls of masking tape, Lols running over from Inkoholiks to check I was ok, all the nights I kept her there almost asleep lying on the carpet as I explained I didn't believe in the word "grand" when it came to painting and she would sneakily grab the roller and paint to see the horror on my face while she laughed away. I'll always remember one the final days of painting myself Linda Bradley and Lols listening to the Blood Hound Gang and being stupid but at the same time so excited to finally get the shop open, as one of the bouncers said to us when we did up Inkoholiks on Tuckey street "ye would have been opened alot sooner if ye had hired professionals"!! But Lols, Mikey, Linda and myself became the renovation team for all shops and we shared some great times together in all the shops. It's been so hard to say goodbye to Lols and so so hard to be in either of the shops but I just want to thank everyone for their support, thanks especially to Linda Bradley, Dan and Anne Burns for giving up their time and working in the shop, I couldn't have faced being in their without ye. Thanks to Mikey Sirbu for being there to listen to me and support me over the last few months. Thanks to everyone that called in to buy something, to say hello, share a story about Lols or to give a donation towards the fundraisers in Lorraine's memory, I really appreciate it. Just on the way back to Thurles for the first fundraiser tomorrow in Lorraine Shanahan's memory the Blazing Bikers Trip Around Tipp While the shop has now closed I will be back next week at some stage to pack up so if anyone wants anything from the shop you can just send me a message.
