The Forge Gym - Cork
Description
Strength - Movement - Health When we first started Cork Kettlebell Club back in 2011, we were renting a small space in
a gym in the city for classes. We had 10 kettlebells and nothing else, in fact, the kettlebells didn't even
arrive until 30 minutes before the first class was due to begin!
Last year we opened our own facility on Half Moon Lane, our kettlebell collection had grown
from just 10 kettlebells from 8-16kg to over 40 ranging from 8kg all the way up to a collossal 92kg!
We have dumbbells, barbells, suspension trainers, ropes, gymnastics equipment, a prehab/rehab section, a full
matted area for classes, strongman equipment and we are one of the leading facilities in the country
for Clubbell training.
We are the first and only gym in the country to be qualified to teach TacFit and run
regular classes throughout the week and we are very privilidged to be able to provide
the absolute best body transformation program in the
world with the Amazing 12 Week Physique
Recently, we got confirmation of status as an official Strongman gym in
addition to being the base of operations for the TacFit Irish Legion and housing
pretty much EVERY StrongFirst Instructor in Munster including
Barbell specialists and myself a SFGII, StrongFirst Bodyweight instructor
and the StrongFirst Provencial Coordinator for Munster.
We also house both Cork City Powerlifting Club and Cork Strongman and Strongwoman Club
As you can see, we have become vastly more than just a Kettlebell Club.
As proud as we are of the name and brand of Cork Kettlebell Club, we have outgrown the name
None of it would have been possible without all of you and we
maintain our drive to provide the best possible
service, results and experience to everyone in Cork

Next up is the incredible Stephen! Where to even begin! Lets start with the aesthetic changes shall we? When Stephen started, he was fairly deconditioned. Despite a tough, manual job, he had very little muscle, his bodyfat was quite high and his strength levels were low. Now, he has one of the leanest physiques I have ever seen! The amount of muscle gained in his 12 weeks is just staggering, when combined with the fat he has lost it is just unbeleivable. If this was any other program, it wouldn't even be possible but it's just another day in the office with the Amazing 12! But take this into consideration: Stephen got INSANELY lean while on a BULKING diet. Just think about that for a second So,incredible muscle gain while getting ridiculously lean on a diet designed to put weight on? What about strength? How about hitting his old 1RM for over 35 reps on the bench press? One arm push ups, weighted pull ups and weighted pistol squats without any specific training? Stephen was loving the results so much that by week 6, he had already signed up for round 2! 12 more weeks and this man will be an absolute beast! Even more importantly, one of the reasons that he signed up was that 2015 had been a very tough year and he had always had self consciousness issues. Anyone who was there on his photoshoot day can say with 100% certainty that he no longer has those issues! Next up from the Amazing 12 at The Forge is Roy! Roy joined the Amazing 12 because, like thousands of others, he was sick of going to the gym, working his ass off and not seeing results. Roy has gone from the skinny guy to someone who wouldn't look out of place on the cover of Men's Health! Which, by the way, I am seriously considering training him for Coming from a gymnastics background, roy had a bit of experience with bodyweight training. Even so, the Amazing 12 was able to make such a dramatic increase in his strength that he got his first ever Muscle Up with zero training for it and not even doing a single pull up during training! What makes this transformation even more incredible is that he did this while on a BULKING diet Let that sink in for a second. Not only did he get better at bodyweight training but he got more definition than a dictionary while on a diet designed to make him gain weight! Absolutely insane work Roy! First up from this round of the Amazing 12 in Cork, is Conor! Conor signed up for the Amazing 12 because he wanted to do something special, taking his physicality to the next level after a very tough year. As you can see, I think we can consider that box well and truly checked! He went from 0 pull ups to weighted pull ups (without doing a single rep during training!), his bench press has gone through the roof (testing next week but I can guarantee that he will hit 100kg+) and at the end of his 12 weeks he was Military Pressing just 5kg under his old 1RM for more than 40 reps!! One Arm Push Ups? Not even a bother for Conor who can now crack out 4 STRICT reps. I don't take weight measurements but often the clients themselves like to just to keep track. Conor ended up losing a huge 13.5kg! Over a kilogram per week! Absolutely stellar work! Last week saw the first ever graduate of a 6 week version of the Amazing 12 at The Forge Gym Cork! In just 6 weeks, Aonghus put on some serious muscle and his strength gains were remarkable for such a short period of time! Check out the bottom left picture, that is a 320kg tyre! Let's hear from the man himself: 'After trying several different types of training over the years I believe I have found the one that works best for me and for what I wanted to achieve. I wanted to start 2016 strong and that’s what I have started to do and plan on hopefully continuing with Bens help and also from the Forge. The Forge is a great gym, a proper gym it’s got everything you need to work through the programme and achieve the results that you require. Ben will guide you through the programme, but it’s down to your hard work and following the simple guidelines where the results will become apparent. I was only able to complete 6 of the 12 week and that is the only regret that I have. The demonstrations of exercises that you can get are second to none and you get corrected if you do them wrong. There was great flexibility in the training which also which makes it easier. There has been a lot of negativity and dis-believers online but the results and the figures speak for themselves. I don’t have the calculations but Ben has and the numbers are big (bench press up almost 10kg, deadlift up even more! - Ben). Just look at the start and at the end. I really enjoyed the training and look forward to carrying it on as soon as I can. Notes: Remove the weights when you have finished training and stow them correctly. Franks sauce is Hot! Do the Cardio, it helps and is good for you. Neil Prendeville, is not great motivation whilst lifting weights.'
