Many hands make light work .
Fortunately, Bandon was flood free yesterday. However our friends and neighbours in Skibbereen were once again hit. While they cleared the flood water swiftly, we know the damage and heartbreak that goes with any flooding and we send our best wishes to those affected.
We were so thrilled to be part of the group who received the Spirit of the Community Award tonight at the 27th Annual West Cork Community Awards. Along with many other groups including the Fire Brigade, Red Cross, Civil Defence, Parish Council, Army, local farmers and numerous volunteers, we were recognized for our part during the floods of last year. We were delighted to have been part of this wonderful group of people and were just happy to have been able to help in any way during our towns difficult time. We hope the wonderful community spirit shown will continue to grow. As the song says "Bandon town I love you so.............
