Description
Live Words takes place on the last Thursday of every month featuring spoken word, slam poetry, punk poetry and anything in between. Live Words is a monthly slam poetry / spoken word evening which takes place on the last Thursday of the month at The Roundy in Cork.
Curated and presented by punk poet, Wasps vs Humans, the evening is a joint initiative with Mutant Space Arts Resource and will be dedicated to the spoken word featuring established artists from all corners of Ireland as well as international guests.
Following the featured guests, there is an opportunity for members of the audience to showcase their piece. If you would like to perform on one of the nights, please PM us or email. See contact details.
With Live Words we hope to add another dimension to the already vibrant poetry scene established in Cork. We are interested in hearing from both established poets or writers starting out. Everyone is welcome, whether you fancy performing a piece, or sitting back and listening to some amazing slam poetry, performance poetry, any form of poetry! theatrical pieces even... The key is Live Words!
It is a donation only event and doors open at 9pm. Performers kicks off 9.30pm sharp, so get there early!

Gig news: Jinx Lennon releases two albums today and will be launching them for Cork next Friday, 28 October in The Kino cinema. Lets get behind this non jazz event for the bank holiday. Gig news, coming up next weekend. On Friday 26th August, as part of the 96/1 celebrations in cork WaspsVsHumans will be performing upstairs at Long Valley in Cork, alongside Rab Urquhart, Moze M.
