Email: thefamilycentre@eircom.net The Hollyhill/Knocknaheeny Family Centre has over twenty years experience in providing quality care for children. The Centre has been a catalyst in meeting the needs of the area with the support of the Daughters of Charity and is managed by a Board of Management. The centre is located at the heart of the community, situated opposite the local church, close to the shopping centre and local facilities and now based on the Youth Link Complex on the grounds of the VEC at Terence Mc Swiney Community College.
The family, in all its diverse forms is the fundamental unit that provides stability and well being in society.
Children should live within their own families where possible and young families need affordable good quality childcare facilities.
Parents and particularly young parents and one parent families need access to good quality childcare, that is community based, accessible integrated and effective.
All children have equal rights, regardless of their gender, race, religion, disability or background.
Staff training development and support is seen as essential to delivering a comprehensive service to children and families.
The Centre aims to work collaboratively with all other agencies working in the area of Hollyhill/Knocknaheeny, e.g. Social Workers, Youth Workers, Public Health Nurses, Schools, NICHE and other voluntary groups.
