Cork Counselling Centre is a non-profit organisation providing professional counselling, psychotherapy and training services in the south of Ireland.

The Cork Counselling Centre was founded in the early 1980s.  It was one of the  first centres in the country to provide a professional counselling service to members of the community regardless of financial means, religious beliefs, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or  educational background.  Out of this history Cork Counselling Centre & Training Institute was born.

The aim of Cork Counselling Centre & Training Institute is to educate and train students so that they attain professional counselling standards reflecting best practice nationally and internationally.  We aim to foster personal responsibility, ethical and social awareness and inclusive practice in our students.  The Training Institute aims to aid students in the development of this professionalism by mutually creating an active learning environment which is inclusive, supportive and constructively challenging.

The Centre is run by a diverse team of professional counsellors and psychotherapists.  All of our staff are either accredited by the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and/or the IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy) and/or Registered Psychologists with the PSI(Psychological Society Ireland) or are working towards accreditation.  All of our counsellors and psychotherapists work within recognised codes of ethics and the highest professional standards.

OUR SERVICES
We offer:
Individual counselling and psychotherapy to people of all ages
Crisis intervention
Couples and family work
Group Work
The Centre also expanded its reach into the community and currently runs a Positive Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Programme for schools and a Parenting Programme.
