St. Peter's Cork
Description
The 1916 Centre Of Commemoration. We host many events including our year-round exhibition Rebellion! All are welcome and the exhibition is free of charge. St Peter's Cork is a collaboration venue for culture, business, education and communities.
For 2016 St Peter's hosts the Centre of Commemoration, a broad programme of exhibitions, discussion and performance focusing on the 1916 Easter Rising. The Centre features a year-round exhibition, Rebellion!, by Rachel Abraham that explores the people and organisations that went beyond the ideals of an Irish republic and laid the foundations for its reality.
Our dedicated team here in St Peter's will be happy to discuss the history of our iconic building as well as inform you of the current exhibitions. All are welcome and the exhibitions are free of charge.
St Peter's Cork has two main exhibition spaces, the Main Hall is home to Rebellion! throughout 2016 whilst the Mezzanine Gallery on the first floor will host a series of exhibitions including a June exhibition by Shandon Area History Group entitled Ordinary Women in Extraordinary Times.
Throughout the year St Peter's will welcome a number of touring musicians, artists, guest-speakers and performers to entertain, inform and engage our audience. We hope to see you throughout the year.
If you have a project that you think would fit St Peter's Cork, we would love to discuss this further. The venue is also available for private hire.
