A lot of people ask me how I train for the hills. More often than not I just hit the hills with a heavy pack but I do add in some cross training very similar to this poster. Strength and conditioning is vital to maintain good core and muscle tone which helps on those insanely long inclines and some extra cardio training to increase the lactate acid threshold and improve the lung capacity. Aside from all this recovery is very important so do take rest days, fuel up properly and avoid the burn out!!
Bright Side
Check out the benefits of Nordic Walking. I regularly use this whilst out and avoutb9n the hills but as a general form of exercise it is excellent!!
