ITS HERE!! 🎉 After months of hard work, long nights and copious amounts of take away coffee, we finally opened Midleton Montessori and Preschool this morning 🏫 Thank you to everyone for your lovely kind wishes along the way and the offers to lend a helping hand when we needed it, it was greatly appreciated 🌸 Most of all thank you to my incredible Mom, Leslie💕 Her hard work and determination over the last year has been nothing short of amazing, and without her expertise and attention to detail throughout the whole process we wouldn't be where we are now ☺️ There is no one that I would rather be partners with than you, and I feel truly lucky to be on this journey with you🌸 We look forward to many years ahead of fun, learning and exploring with you all 📚 If you haven't already come in to see the new building, PLEASE DO! We would love to show you around 🎀🎉🎊

This week we're learning all about nutrition and healthy eating 🍍🍒🌽 We have been doing a number of activities such as sorting healthy and unhealthy food, making a fruit and vegetable rainbow and working on a "Traffic Light System" which consisted of the red traffic light referring to unhealthy foods, the yellow traffic light referring to foods we eat every now and again and the green light referring to foods that are healthy and nutritious ☺️ We all had great fun and it's has been wonderful to see each child showing such interest in healthy eating and the healthy lunches they bring to school 🥕🥒🍅

After two days off from school, everyone was full of stories about "Hurricane Ophelia" 🌪💨. As an extension to the stories we discussed, we decided as a group to base our art activity around Ophelia 🎨 The children had great fun designing their own pictures of Ophelia and there was great excitement discussing everyone's pictures. Lots of Exploring, Thinking and Communicating today! ☺️

This week we are learning about the body, and all the wonderful things that our bodies can do! 🤸🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️As an introduction, the children had the opportunity to explore human anatomy - with PASTA! ☺️ we all had great fun today putting different pasta shapes on different parts of the body ✋🏻 👃🏻👂🏻we think the result is really great!

Today, our children continued their exploration of the theme "All About Me" 🤗 Our Art Activity was called "Friendship Colour Mixing"🖌Each child had a different colour on their hand and joined hands with another child to make a different colour 🤝🎨 it was a great way for the children to connect and get to know each other☺️ We think the result was pretty great!
