Evgeniya Martirosyan will give an artist talk and tour of her solo exhibition - Between Something and Nothing - 1pm, Saturday 17 February. Location: Tactic Cork at The Crypt (Mahony's Avenue Entrance), St. Luke’s Former Church, St. Luke's Cross, Cork City. Exhibition Continues until Sat 24 February 2018 Opening Times: Thursday - Saturday, 12:00 - 17:30 Evgeniya Martirosyan is an Irish based artist with a background in philosophy and design. She successfully completed a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art in 2016 at CIT Crawford College of Art and Design. From her degree show, she was awarded a number of residencies and awards including the Sample-Studios Residency Award, the NSF Ireland Residency Award, and the Cork Film Centre Exhibition Award. Since graduating, Evgeniya has received an Individual Artist Bursary Awards from the Arts Council and Cork City Arts Office. Her recent exhibitions include: Brainchild, 126 Gallery, Galway, (2017); Forward Looking, Looking Back Now, TACTIC, Cork, (2016); Fledglings, The Lavit Gallery, Cork, (2016).

It represents an intuitive response to concepts of time, matter, chaos and transformation. The latest developments in science raise many questions about the nature of reality, as it seems uncertainty and relativity are part of the very fabric of our world. Working with elemental materials and using a broad range of techniques, Martirosyan explores the poetic possibilities of the constantly shifting and elusive state of things.
