Are your radiators working effectively? Follow these simple steps to check yours. 1. Check each radiator - When the heating is on check that the top of each radiator is as hot at the top as it is on the bottom. If its cold at the top it may need to be bled. 2. Find your radiator key - If you can't find it a screwdriver will also do the trick 3. Shield the area - put down some old sheets or towels to prevent any water spilling on the floor. 4. Locate the bleed valve - Find the bleed value on one side of the radiator 5. Shield your hand - wrap a cloth around your hand to help catch any water that will come out. Be careful the water may be hot. 6. Open the value - Slowly and carefully turn the value anti-clockwise to open it using the key/screwdriver. You will hear the air hissing out and prepare to close it. 7. Close the value - As soon as you see the water coming out quickly re-tighten the value by turning it clockwise. Your radiator should now be hot all over. 8. Repeat the above for all the radiators in your home to keep it nice and warm.
