David Shanahan is the creator of Geneposter.com. He has a background in the hospitality,
entertainment, IT Procurement and Graphic Design fields.
His Family is descended from the The Dál gCais (Dalcassians) Co. Clare, Ireland, on his
Father's side and from the De Paor's of CLEDEN-POHER in Brittany, France on his Mother's side.
In 2010 David gave up his day job to take care of his elderly parents. A time of great change ensued, parallel to which some of his cousins were doing research into their
respective Family trees. At a Family meet, cousin Joe suggested David should design a
Family Tree Poster. So the seed for Geneposter.com began. In 2013 David had an extended Family Gathering to display his work and the 70 relatives that came were impressed.
At this point Family members and business people David knew all suggested one thing -
turn your knowledge and expertise into a business.
So that is what is presented today as GenePoster.com. The core idea is to save people having to use complicated computer programs to make what are in most cases very plain and small Family Trees(most people would need to see an optician to make sense of them!).
Also with Geneposter.com, you can add Family photos, backgrounds and have your Family Coats of Arms hand painted by HouseofNames.ie. Documents delivered by Dropbox. Framed and canvas product delivered by courier.
