facebook.comMr August is Jonathan O Donovan What a month for this man!! He started off the month by coming third at the mixed Pairs comp - The Powerful Invitational!! He didn’t drop off his training though, he stayed consistent and continued to perform well throughout the month. At the weekend he then got into the finals again at The Summit Games coming 5th overall with his team! Two comps to finals, 1 podium in a month 🙌 He is in unbelievable shape at the moment as he has dialled in his nutrition to compliment his training ethic and the combination is really paying off as he is getting stronger, fitter and hitting more and more PBs in his gymnastics 👊 Unreal JD, keep her lit!! #mraugust #athleteofthemonth #consistency #nutrition #workethic #trusttheprocess #chips

Another great day out for the gym!! We had 2 teams head down to the The Summit Games in Killarney and we managed to get both teams into the finals which was the top 6 teams out of 46 finishing 4th and 5th overall 🙌 Maybe if there was a barbell or some sort of skill in the final we might of had both teams on the podium but maybe next year 👊 Both teams were in the same heat from the start and had such a laugh all day driving each other on 😁 We are pleasantly surprised and proud of how everyone performed and the heart and effort that was put in. Shout out to Micheal O' Sullivan too for judging at another comp, the judging CV is getting impressive now! “I was staying down in Kerry over the weekend and decided to have a go at 10k. No running done except for training at Howling Heart Fitness. I ended up beating my time by 4 minutes and got second place in my age category. Great coaches at Howling Heart, always so encouraging! Great place to train.” #HowlingHeartfitness #RoseofTralee10k So Una Scannell entered a 10km race at last minute with no running done outside of the gym workouts and she smashed her old PB by a massive 4mins (when she was doing nothing but road running!) 🙌 She even had to buy a new pair of runners in Tralee so she could do it 😂 No better woman as she is so consistent with her training and also puts in the effort every time she comes in. We are delighted for you Una!!

Best of luck to Col Sutton who is taking on IRONMAN 70.3 tomorrow in Dublin. He has been training well leading up to this so we know he is going to smash it 👊
One thing we hear through the grapevine is people saying: “I would like to join Howling Heart but before I do I must get a bit fitter first.” First off there really is no need because you will enter our introductory classes with other beginners. These classes are all about getting the technique right with a professional trainer who watches you and corrects your form. In these classes you use little or no weight. You then move into the main classes and you will find that there is a real sense of community. People help you put your weights away, strangers shout encouragement when you’re on the last minute of your round and there’s always a palm ready to high-five you at the end of the workout. It sounds cheesy, but this culture of support and camaraderie is really motivating! We have had many members that have come in the doors that have not been in a gym in years or have never stepped foot in a gym in their lives and are thriving now!! Everything is personalised to your own level, ability and goals 🙌 Investing in yourself is not selfish. Instead, it gives you more energy to put into your relationships, your marriage, your job and your kids. Massive respect for this guy!! David wanted to get his health in order but wasn’t sure how to start due to a number of reasons. Ability referred him to us and a brilliant relationship developed from there! He was determined to make this work so he caught busses to get to his sessions (2 at the beginning before he moved closer) in the wind and rain but he persevered and is smashing it 🤨 So far he has lost 13.1kg (2 stone) and 15cm off his waist but more important than the numbers is the fact that he feels so much better in himself and now has more energy and motivation to do more. He has recently started going on hikes and getting outdoors!! He started off doing PT sessions where we worked on his mobility, technique and his nutrition. We then delved deeper into his sleep, hydration and NEAT (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis). After completing a block of PT sessions he is now moving into our group classes to continue his journey. PROUD 😊 First of all i want to say a massive thank you to to the Wolfpack for travelling up and supporting us all weekend at The Powerful Invitational, we could here you guys from the floor in every event.......you guys are the best 🙌 We had 10 teams spread across all 5 divisions and everyone went full send, even into Sat night 😁 Delighted to see so many of you guys getting PBs along the way 👊 We had 3 teams finish in the top 10 in their categories - Rx, scaled masters and it was brilliant to cap off the weekend with a podium. Our Masters Rx team taking 3rd place with some tough events.
