You are cordially invited to ‘Lake Lake Hill Hill Lake 9318’, an exhibition of paintings by Mateusz Lubecki and memories by Cavan writers, at Townhall Cavan Arts Space. The exhibition will open with a preview on Friday 09/02/2018 at 7pm This exhibition is part of an initiative of Cavan County Council Arts Office and supported by the Arts Council. Working from old family photographs Mateusz has created paintings that are familiar in their form, because they remind us of our own photo albums; confident poses and uncomfortable smiles are saturated with dream like colours, rendering dream like qualities within the images. The paintings are paired with stories from local writers, recalling their own childhood memories. These memories become descriptions of the paintings, even though they are representing completely different moments in time that have happened to different people in different places. The invited writers are Lorraine Bennett, Patricia Doole, Kate Ennals, Fiona Fleming and Antoinette Rock. The exhibition will open with a preview on Friday 09/02/2018 at 7pm, and will run until Friday 16/02 11am – 5pm. (Sunday Closed)
