facebook.comA very successful Drumkilly Development Group funding raising quiz was held in Tom Michael Hills pub in Kilnaleck on Friday 31 March. €800 was raised which we are extremely grateful for. Pictured are left to right. Marie Smith, Secretary Drumkilly Development. Quiz winners Sean Smith, Charlie Galligan and John Higgins. Just a note to say that work on the hall is progressing well and that the new stage is in place. Pictures to follow soon.

Renovation work on Drumkilly hall is nearing completion! The refurbished hall will be a huge asset to the community for social events. The committee wish to thank everyone who supported fundraising activities to facilitate the work. Thanks to all at home and abroad for the financial support. Thanks to Fr Micheal Quinn for his commitment and enthusiasm and to Bernard Farrell and Energy Wise Construction for the excellent workmanship.

Drumkilly Development Group obtained funding of €30,000 for the refurbishment of Drumkilly Community Hall under the ‘Better Energy Communities’ Government initiative. Drumkilly Development will work with Crosserlough Parish on the project. Energy Wise Construction handled the funding application as part of their overall programme and will carry out and supervise the work. Total cost of the project will be €90,000. Pictured at the handing over of a cheque for €10,000 from Drumkilly Development to Energy Wise Construction as part of the local contribution are Rev. Micheal Quinn, Parish Priest Crosserlough, Tom Sullivan, Chairman,Drumkilly Development, Bernard Farrell, Energy Wise Construction, Patsy Galligan, Drumkilly Develomemt and Pat Dowd,Chairman,Drumkilly Pastoral Committee.

On Thursday 23rd June, large crowds attended our annual fun run in Drumkilly. We were delighted at the turnout and we especially thank Cavan GAA Star Dara McVeety for coming along to the occasion. Congratulations to our winners – Brian O’Reilly (Winner) and Molly Lynch (First female winner) – Pictured with Marie Smith and Tom Sullivan (Drumkilly Development Group). Well done to everyone who took part!
