SING Summer Camp Carrick-on-Suir
Description
SING! SUMMER CAMP a fun, friendly environment in which children can discover the wonderful art of singing! SEE NOTES FOR INFO & APPLICATION FORM!! Songs from various genres will be covered including pop, musical theatre, Disney and Irish airs. Basic vocal technique such as correct breathing, posture and tone production will also be taught.
Fun games/activities are organised as part of the camp!
Parents are asked to provide comfortable clothing/footwear, a snack and plenty of water to keep our little singers' vocal chords hydrated!
The children will have the opportunity to perform for family and friends during a 45 minute concert staged at the end of the week.
SING! SUMMER CAMP is run by established soprano and music educator Ruth Gahan. Ruth holds a B.A. Hon. degree in music from Waterford Institute of Technology and is currently studying classical voice under tenor Owen Gilhooly at Dublin Institute of Technology. She is a prize winner at Feis Maitiu Corcaigh and a previous member of the Irish Youth Choir. Ruth has performed at venues such as Castletown House (Co. Kildare), Christ Church Cathedral (Waterford City), Wexford Opera House, the National Gallery and National Concert Hall. An experienced educator, she is currently teaching voice and piano at the North Co. Dublin Music School and Olympus Music, Dance and Art Academy. She also rehearses and conducts the Presentation Primary School Choir (Carrick-on-Suir).
