All through the Zones today in the Carlow vs Kilkenny/Wexford round 👏👏. Well done to our U10 and U12 draughts teams and our U13 girls basketball team who safely saw off all opposition and now go forward to the Leinster finals on 29th April in Trim, Co Meath. Our U16 boys basketball team are also through on a bye. Two weeks now to get all of that last practice in for the next stage and very well done on today 🖤💛.
Huge applause for the U12 soccer team today who gave their all to the two great games they played. In the first game a great reply by Sam McHugh to an early goal by Graiguecullen managed to settle our nerves. A second smasher by Conor Buggy not long afterwards allowed us to believe we could win the game. When Oran O Boyle converted a corner from Lorcan Kelly we almost knew we were there. Graiguecullen managed to salvage one late goal but B/T were through the first round. We thought that was the tricky game over but don’t ever count your chickens.... Next up was St. Lazerian’s who looked strong from the start. They scored an early header and unfortunately we just couldn’t get the goal we needed. So it was the end of the road for this year. But a lovely day out and a big thank you to all of the parents who supported and to John McHugh, Mairéad Breen and Yvonne Bermingham for mentoring the team 🖤💛.
Congratulations again to our six representatives in the Talent Show who performed so well on our behalf last night. Special mention to Alannah O Dwyer and Isabelle Mahon who won gold medals for their recitation and music respectively. And also to Alex O Rourke and Shauna Bermingham who got the bronze. And not forgetting Johnua Crosby who took fourth bronze. We’re proud of you all 🖤💛.
The very best of luck to our soccer players tomorrow, Joe, Jack, Charlie, Paddy, Seán, Fionn, Conor, Oran, Aidan, Pádraig, Macdara, Cathal, Robbie, Sam, Lorcan and Jack 🍀🍀🍀.
