At the cafe we often get asked " what is a geopark?" this is a recognition by the united nations educational scientific and cultural organisation (unesco) for an area of geologic, ecologic and cultural significance. They are managed holistically through conservation, education, sustainable tourism and enrichment of the local community. did you know our Copper Coast UNESCO Geopark is the smallest in the world! it covers the stretch of coast between Kilfarrassy and Stradbally, and extends to Dunhill inland.

Entries for the 10th Anniversary Copper Coast Geopark Flower Show can be handed in today and tomorrow at the cafe or by contacting Breda 0872392625 or thr Geopark office 051292828 Please remember items must be handed in tomorrow friday 28th between 5-7pm for judging Categories include flower arrangement,cut flowers, crafts, home baking and kids categories.

Do something different this Sunday, forage for seaweed in the Copper Coast Geopark followed by a range of foods incorporating seaweed prepared by The Lemon Tree Seafood Restaurant, €7 per head or €10 per couple. Meet up at Copper Coast Café Bunmahon 2pm Part of the Comeraghs Wild Festival

Coming up next weekend: We will be closed Friday 14th for a private event Sunday 16th we have not one but two events in collaboration with Comeraghs Wild Festival Seaweed foraging walk with local expert Bruce Macdonald followed by light lunch of locally produced seaweed based food, €7 or €10 for couple. Meet at 2pm at the visitor centre. Musical entertainment at 7pm with Dúnaill - Folk Group supported by Stillhouse tickets on door €10 Our wine bar will be open for the evening and we will have focaccia from Seagull Bakery as our local food offering. The cafe & visitor center will be open as usual mon-thur 11-5 , sat-sun 11-6
