Copper Coast Geopark is part of the UNESCO geopark network. At the cafe we often get asked " what is a geopark?" this is a recognition by the united nations educational scientific and cultural organisation (unesco) for an area of geologic, ecologic and cultural significance. They are managed holistically through conservation, education, sustainable tourism and enrichment of the local community. did you know our Copper Coast UNESCO Geopark is the smallest in the world! it covers the stretch of coast between Kilfarrassy and Stradbally, and extends to Dunhill inland.
