Who are we: An organisation for all stonecarving related trades based in Ireland. Stonecarvers, Monumental masons, Stonecutters, artistic Sculptors, Quarrymen, Stone suppliers etc.
What is our purpose: Creating awareness our craft, promoting traditional skills & the use of native Irish stone, offer support & advice regarding hand carved stone on monuments, heritage buildings or other projects to anyone who requires guidance from skilled and professional trades and crafts people.
Networking to create a wider community, awareness and improve the quality of craftsmanship in order to achieve the best possible results a heritage building deserves.

Took a few pictures today of some of Seamus Murphy's carvings, in Rathcooney Graveyard, near Glanmire in Cork. Absolutely love the minimal simplicity of that first cross, which is on the back of a headstone. All worked in Limestone.
Irish arts, culture & heritage needs adequate funding & a dedicated government Department
Worth signing if you have 2 minutes, this effects everyone here in one way or another, things need to change, our arts, culture and heritage need to stop having to survive on the scraps they have been. Our history is our future. Go anywhere in the world outside of Ireland and hear how revered our culture and heritage is, while at home it barely gets a look in from the people with the power to change things, except when it suits, when a visiting dignitary gets serenaded with Irish music and pictures of thatched cottages and castles.
