A very old family Bible which was found in a loft eaten by unknown creatures now beautifully restored by our talented bookbinder

The largest book our bookbinder Rob Salter has ever restored. Looking good now compared to how it was when it came into the bookshop so if you have a precious book which needs restoring bring it into our ace restorer. A very rare craft that we are lucky enough to have in Donegal

A massive book of maps bought in for rebinding

The House of Books reopened today. Come & have a look at our new layout on the 2nd floor of Alexanders.

We are in dire need of paperback novels so please can everyone clear out their old books and bring them into Alexanders 2nd floor - or call us & we will collect. Thank you in advance

HOUSE OF BOOKS An exciting event is going to take place in Ballybofey on Monday the 15th April when The House of Books reopens it’s doors in its new premises on the top floor of Alexanders on the main street in Ballybofey. The House of Books raises money for Mary’s Meals who in turn provides meals to school children who wouldn’t otherwise get anything to eat. We would appreciate your donations of unwanted books, postcards & stamps. We will still be providing our bookbinding & restoration service. Check out our facebook page. Sadly we are having to close The House of Books at the end of October. To clear all the books each customer may take 1 supplied carrier bag and fill it with books and then make a donation to Mary's Meals here in the shop.
