Another busy weekend for the unit, with 2 of our members joining the county team, a search team still active in the search for our missing colleagues in Mayo, and an ambulance joining other agencies looking after the Lough Corrib cycle. Just to keep things interesting we also have a group taking part in a fitness challenge, getting over a hill. Best of luck to all.
Members of the Civil Defence SUA team were tasked to support the ongoing search efforts for the missing Crew members of the Irish Coast Guard around the Mayo coastline on Friday. (14/04/17) Ballinasloe and Laois were in attendance.

2 years since the unit accompanied the "Miles for Emma" walk on their walk from Ballinasloe to Dublin to highlight the issues with regard to equality for all children.
As a mark of respect to our lost colleagues in the Irish Coast Guard, and mindful of the involvement of our Drone crews in the ongoing search, Ballinasloe Civil Defence will not be partaking in the St Patrick's day parade this year. We pray that they may be returned to their families, and thank them for their sacrifice.
