Everest update, we are now 4 days Trek away from Everest. Current altitude 12,573ft daytime temp -6C, night temp -18c, light snow at present & we are acclimatising well so far.

Trekking in the mountains surrounding Hong Kong in winter at 24 C. We made a peace offering to the God Buddha today, requesting his help in bringing home the Sam Maguire cup to the great County of Mayo.

Happy New Year from all at Walk West Ireland. We are climbing to Everest Base Camp early in January & raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society. We have 3,887 Euro donated already for the charity. Thanks to all who donated & helped fundraise.

Everest Base Camp Trek for the Irish Cancer Society. Matthew & I have been training very hard over the last few weeks. This is a tough 19 day Trek, where the oxygen levels are half of what they are at sea level & night time temperatures could be as low as -20 C.
