Stocked to the brim with a beautiful eclectic mix of country and vintage inspired home-wares, Mariposa has achieved an enviable ambiance throughout the shop. The careful sourcing and bringing together of vintage French Country, Gustavian, New England, Art Deco and English Country styles has created an air of enchanting nostalgia, making a visit to the shop a feast for the senses.
The shop stocks an impressive range of furniture, giftware, accessories, lamps, soft furnishings, candles and a whole host of quirky vintage style treasures, many with definite artisanal quality. The emphasis is on relaxed appeal with beautiful furnishings which are timeless and work well together to create effortless, eclectic and stylish interiors. Everything is carefully sourced and brought together to create a fresh but relaxed ambiance.
Belmullet-born Bridie Timoney provides the vision behind Mariposa. Born with a passion for all things beautiful and a flair for design, Bridie has more than two decades of experience in lifestyle and interiors retail and design.
Mariposa is always welcoming and delighted when people come to browse or to enjoy the wonderfully curated displays in the double fronted shop windows. Bring along your own design ideas, queries or photographs. Bridie is happy to help you with anything from finding a single piece to a complete home re-style. If you have something particular in mind but cannot find it, Mariposa has an extensive database of suppliers and artisan makers within Europe and beyond. Keeping the customer at the heart of her business, Bridie has recently started a Christmas Club to help customers plan and budget for Christmas gifts and for those wonderful handcrafted Christmas decorations and accessories which are unique to Mariposa.
Bridie is an expert stylist whose discriminating aesthetic perspective and design know-how is reflected throughout the entire business. From the wonderfully eclectic collections of furniture, sourced from all over Europe and further afield, to the in-store design service on offer, Mariposa has quickly and firmly established itself as Ballina`s leading lifestyle, giftware and interiors destination.
