Thank you to all who attended the talk and plaques unveiling yesterday in the Church of Sts Peter & Paul in Balbriggan. The Chairman of Balbriggan Tourism Committee, Cllr. Tony Murphy was delighted to welcome the art historian and Harry Clarke scholar, Dr Nicola Gordon Bowe to Balbriggan. Dr Bowe was utterly charming and gave a very detailed and insightful talk on the two magnificent Harry Clarke windows, The Visitation and The Widow's Son housed in the church. Afterwards, there was a funny moment when the slowly creeping-in storm Ewan almost took the unveiling out of the hands of the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Darragh Butler as he pulled the red ribbon to reveal the plaques. (photos by Michael Feeney)

The CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM is something of a Balbriggan tradition which is growing in popularity every year. This year on 25th December at noon swimmers will brave the icy cold waters of the Irish Sea at Balbriggan Beach (The Front Strand) and take the plunge for a charity of their choice. Come to support them.
