At last some signs of Spring.

Our cherry blossom tree at the back of the Manor didn't cope very well with the winter and now lay broken on the ground. After all these years, it found enough strength to produce once again these beautiful flowers. They will be the last ones and we will miss them.

David from Betania braved a wet March day to come and film this promotional video for their upcoming teenage retreat in May. He found some beauty in an otherwise unpleasant day!

We have one guest in the Manor this week-end who is not complaining about the rough weather.

He is risen indeed... Rejoice! Happy Easter and every blessings from all of us at Ovoca Manor.

A bit of "spring" cleaning in one of the Manor's attic this morning. The "older" generation should have one or two memories about these quilts.... 😉 Would you like to share a few stories with us? We carefully put them back into storage. To much work involved and to many precious souvenirs to get rid of them.

Here we go again. Thankfully the new heating system works a treat and the 130 youths from Cashel, Fern and Ossory are comfortably tucked inside. Chef !!!.... A big pot of hot chocolate could be a good idea.

A little change in the design of our new sign this morning

The old Ovoca Manor signs, Herbert Harper's craftmanship, are taking a well merited rest after many decades of good work along the road. After a bit of tender loving care, we will display them again as decorative pieces.

End of a superb day. A last picture of Ovoca Manor under its white coat. Amazing light bouncing on the snow. It has been a special and beautifull time but we are all craving for a bit of normality now. Let the Spring begin.

Better day today. We spent the morning cutting the fallen trees across the paths. The snow is melting gently but it is still a lot to do before welcoming the next group on Thursday. Next is to find somebody with a tractor able to clear our driveway and car park. Not out of the wood yet.

We have now a new glamping 1 bedroom accommodation for rent. It sleeps 10 people squeezed together, better for heat retention. Please call the office quickly to book your overnight. Frozen accomodation rates. Very short time special offer. Not available for family weeks.
