facebook.comTABLE QUIZ REMINDER! A quick reminder that our annual fundraising Table Quiz takes place tomorrow Thursday evening at The Bounty at 8,00. We are calling on all of our parents, guardians, friends and supporters to come along and lend your support to what is always a very, enjoyable evening. St. Francis are one of only four clubs in either the ADSL or the MSL that are fielding teams at EVERY age group from under 6 up to under 17t his season. The other three clubs are Mullingar Athletic, Tullamore Town and Portlaoise AFC, each of those are the only schoolboy clubs in their respective towns, so its a big task for our club with a relatively small group of dedicated volunteers to get our players out on the pitch every week and every little bit of fundraising we can do goes straight back into meeting the cost of pitches, footballs, gear and equipment. A table of four costs only €40, there will be a raffle, spot prizes, and complimentary finger food. Donations of spot prizes very welcome!

UNDER 12 PREMIER CUP After the disappointment of last weekend's league playoff defeat, St. Francis were straight back into action this week with two cup games. First up was a trip to Hodson Bay on Wednesday evening, where goals from Jeffery Idahosa, Abdul Idris, and Shane Wheatley, saw the Saints come away with a 3-0 win. Then, it was off to Ballinasloe today, where another clean sheet from Ben Manning, and goals from Conor Hughes and Rodrigo Dominguez, maintained St. Francis' 100% record in the competition with 3 wins from 3 games so far. Overall, a good week with all of the players contributing.

UNDER 12 PREMIER DIVISION PLAY-OFF AC Celtic 2 St. Francis 1 (Kyle Greene, pen.) Well done to AC Celtic after a very even and high quality game with literally the bounce of a ball between the teams. After going down to an unfortunate goal in the first half, St. Francis battled back well to get a deserved equaliser from the penalty spot. However, a totally committed AC Celtic side were not going to be denied and they scored the winner almost straight from the kick off as an excellent cross from the right sailed all the way into the net at the far post. Hard luck to Derek, Declan and their players who gave everything in defeat.
St Francis under 16 team before the second leg of their cup tie versus Willow Park today. St Francis were leading 3-0 from the first leg but things were looking a bit ominous when they found themselves trailing two nil here with only ten minutes gone in the second half and they were not playing well. The turning point of the game came when Fionnan Henry struck a perfect free kick from 25 yards right into the top corner. St Francis were a different team after that and five minutes later their best player today, Dylan Fagan, won a penalty that Daniel McManus coolly converted. The introduction of Luke O’Rourke off the bench also made a big difference. Both sides had chances to win the game late on but St Francis deservedly go through to the semi final 5-2 on aggregate. They will play either East Galway United or Mullingar Athletic in the semi. Squad: Eimantas Kuzminskis, James Madden, Luka Balaban, Shane Reid (c), James Murphy, Unity Oviawe, Fionnan Henry, Daniel McManus, Emmet Edmundson, Dominik Perkowski, Dylan Fagan, Leon Fallon, Luke O’Rourke, Sam Warnock, Joshua Emmanuel. Missing today were Tommy Stephens, Eric Rogers and Juan Tenes.
