facebook.comDelighted to be able to post that after just a few weeks of torment and sadness that we faced possible closure of our Resource Centre due to termination of our licence agreement and lack of funds, and now due to the kindness of the people in this Community who have raised some cash to enable us to see a bright line emerge from the dark, we are now hopeful we will be in our new location late April, early May in Paramount Arcade Main Street Arklow thanks to the kind heart of Dermot Ryan who saw our post and offered to help us to relocate at a minimum cost. Thanks to everybody who got behind us , to Arklow Celtic Football Club and Tesco for allowing us a place to carry out our food drops from in the meantime. We have a long way to go fundraising but remain positive and grateful 💖
Theresa Power in Powers Souvenir Shop Main Street has put together this beautiful hamper and is raffling it and donating the proceeds towards our new premises. Its a beautiful hamper with 15 tickets for €5. If you are around town pop in to her and view it as its really beautiful and such a kind gesture . We are very grateful to you Theresa.

Appreciation for all support for this and a massive thank you to Tesco.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts but positive minds that we write this post . Six years ago Arklow Community Action Resource Centre acquired the current premises we operate from at the Crosscare Centre who have been great landlords to us and we feel that we have been great tenants who do the work of Crosscare locally and we continue to strive to compliment the work they do on a Diocesan level. Our tenancy sadly terminated March 1st and we have worked tirelessly to relocate without having to seek the help of the wider community but alas as we are volunteers and cannot afford a premises at the current prices landlords are asking so we are asking your help to help us secure a place we can afford to allow us to carry out our work. It will be a great loss to our Community and its people if Arklow Community Action Resource Centre Centre becomes another statistic that was and is no longer. We take this opportunity to thank everybody who has helped us in any way and we do hope we will get a place to continue..Shiela and Hilary wish also to personally acknowledge the excellent people in Arklow and surrounds who have supported them since 2012 💘

Its Christmas Community Dinner Time again, an occasion that brings Community and Parish together for an afternoon of food, dancing, laughter and friendships in Arus Lorcáin. We host this event on the the Sunday closest to January 6th each year as in the past we have found that the hussle and bussle of Christmas and visitors and family visiting is coming to an end and people start to feel lonely , and consumed in the silence . You may know someone in this position or indeed be in it yourself. Spread the word to come along and be with us, no charge, transport provided if needed. Just call 040233837 to book. The office is closed till jan 2nd so leave a message and we will get back to you. Thank You.
The last of the food hampers left the Resource Centre yesterday and as we closed the doors on one of the busiest ever Christmas Season yet , we take this opportunity to thank everybody for being a part of our journey in the past few year, it's been totally overwhelming to see a community get behind us to show support in so many many ways, to the individuals and groups who fundraised for us and gave monetary donations, thank you, your help is much appreciated. To all who facilitated food appeals for us, it is greatly appreciated. To the droves of people who called with clothes, food and toy donations and vouchers over the past five weeks, we are just overcome with the generosity and the genuine happy smiles of appreciation to us when you were donating. A very special thank you goes to the young people this year who came to the centre with their toys, hampers, books, goodies for us to distribute. Its really a wonderful sight to witness children realising the need that exists in life, not in a story book.It is the simple thought and words of kindness that keep flames lit within us.To the stores and charities who donate to us weekly with food that helps us support others, huge thanks. To everybody who has helped us in any way we are forever grateful. To the group of young people and adult volunteers and drivers who did Trojan work all week sorting through the donations and keeping the place tidy , cheers.....give yourselves a pat on the back...... we had a crazy, manic, but brilliant time working with ye all. You are the people and the Community who keep us going and we look forward to doing it all over again next year. As we get older we discover why we have two hands, one to help ourselves and the other for helping others. Reach out and touch somebodies hand , it may be all they need. Happy peace filled Christmas to you all 🌲
