Solace Studio Pottery is running two sets of 4 week pottery workshops starting in September. Pottery Workshop No. 1 - FRIDAY 15th 11-1 Pottery Workshop No. 2 - SATURDAY 16th 11-1. Workshops are €30 per class (set of 4 workshops run over a 5 week period) Students will take home 5/6 finished pieces - all clay firings and glazes included in cost. It's all happening again this year !!! Join myself and Deirdre Burke at our studios in Meehan Levins on the Riverwalk, Arklow. This year we are delighted to have live craft demonstrations from Damian Hogan of Viking craft forge. Brendan Tracey of Asgard wood turning Helena Brennan, Master Studio Potter. Together with a bit of poetry from Tich Ennis and of course our resident musicians the fantastic Arklow Ukulele Players. Pat Power will grace us with a few local stories of old Arklow and of course you can browse through an eclectic mix of art from local artists Mary Leonard, Mary Whelan, Michael O'Conner Deirdre Burke, David Monaghan from Gorey . Drop along the studio is wheelchair friendly and there will be a warm welcome to all :-)

Just like a truffle with somethings you have to scratch the surface a little to discover the amazingness held within. Arklow is a bit like that so in an effort to support this Arklow amazigness Solace Studio Pottery and Place Studio (sorry Deirdre youre roped in now!! ) want to support AMAs Remembering Kynochs Centenary Concert by making some props........ but we need your help :-) anybody artistically minded or interested in giving a hand in creating some animals from recycled materials please contact Peir on 087 9751680. I will be in the studio on Thursday the 7th September from 10-3pm so anybody want to help please feel free to drop in. Also we are looking for any animal like materials if anybody has any old clothes they are dumping please dump them into the studio at Meehan Levins (just behind the old Ship.
