Wicklow Calf Company is family run business for over 50 years. We export weanlings and calves to UK, Holland, Spain and Italy. Whilst Wicklow Cattle Company also exports weanlings, calves are our main focus. These calves are mostly bought directly off farms from all over ireland.
This helps to ensure the welfare of the calves. These calves are collected the night before our export days. They are then exported directly from our lairage the next morning. This causes minimun stress for the calves and is also good for the farmer.
The direct contact with the buyer will allow the farmer to learn what the export market requires and how he can deliver the type of calf required. This will allow the farmer to obtain a higher price for his calves. Wicklow Cattle Company grades the calves into Dutch type calves and Spanish calves and pays for them accordingly.
Our home sale trade is extremely important to us. We source and supply all breeds of livestock. Farm to Farm calves can be arranged. We look after all the paperwork and our aftercare is second to none!Our EU licenced lairage is of exceptionally high standard both in relation to animal welfare and hygiene. We can deal with high or low volumes of livestock (cattle, sheep, pigs) whether you are exporting them to UK or mainland Europe or sending your animals to slaughter. We can arrange your paper work and make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
