.Four more abandoned kitties left for great homes and new lives.. left to right :brother & sister Yin & Yang, Mittens ( now Estia ) and Cookie who flew out yesterday. Little Kali ( white & red ) is looking for a loving home. Found on the side of a hot asphalt main road, hungry & thirsty..we think he is a boy. He is very sweet and playful and is making a great recovery. Then we have tiny Ollie who was brought by tourists from the streets of Pitsidia.( first day here left photo ) Second & last photo taken 3 days ago. Ollie was very scared wild but has settled so well, so sweet.

KALIMERA FRIENDS...Good news !!..our Pandora has started eating again, just a little but it's enough. The photo, this is neither Pandora, or me...just to say have a super weekend and we all must be grateful for everything.

Our tall grey beauty Pandora has caused us much concern over the last 15 days, she has almost stopped eating and lost many kilos. Our followers will be familiar with the story of Pandora who seven years ago was severely beaten by her previous owner and brought to the safety of the sanctuary. Pandora developed a close friendship with Haritomeni who sadly left us a year ago. Pandora was devastated by her loss but she found a new love in Phaedra and they are now inseparable. We are working 24/7 to get Pandora to eat, whatever it takes, but she just turns her head away and look so sad. Last night she finally ate some powdered grain ( about 2 cupfulls ) to which I had added a satchet of bute and some pro-biotic. We ask you to send Pandora much love and many healing blessings, we will keep you updated.

Strength and courage to all the brave Greek fire fighters struggling for days to put out the dreadful fires around Greece. Saving not only humans and their homes but also many animals, wild and strays and against drought, strong winds with antiquated equpiment. You are heroes each and everyone 💖

We are overjoyed that two of the three male puppies abandoned on the beach at Kokkinos Pirgos have found great homes..Now we are looking for a home for the last puppy. The are very cute, playful and will be medium sized when adults. He is the one on the far right in the top photo, in the last photo he is in the middle. If you are interested please come and visit us at the donkey sanctuary and have a look for yourself. There will be no pressure at all. If you wish to adopt we will help with passport etc..

Great excitment yesterday at the sanctuary. Our lovely but very camera shy farrier Yiorgos ( I promised no faces ) came and trimmed the hooves of Kalipso, Talos, Athena and Orfeas. Rafaella and Ero were both very interested in Yiorgos's tool bag but kept a safe distance. Their turn next visit.

A very happy story today.. These three adorable pups were abandoned on a Sth. Crete beach and found by the Caretta Caretta turtle group who built them a shelter, fed and watered them daily. Sadly the shelter was destroyed and the pups were again in grave danger. Simon who heads the group contacted us to ask if we could foster, we are desperately busy but agreed. A family visiting us daily to groom our donkeys fell in love with the pups and today one very lucky little Henry pup ( great new name !!) will fly home with them. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. If you would like to adopt one of the two remaining pups, please make contact...they are boys.
