Bucephalandra und andere seltene Wasserpflanzen. A little inside look at my hobby. I am collecting Bromeliads, Tillandsia Agave, Sempervivum and I have a "exotic" garden full of Palms, Yucca, Agave and morein the middle of Germany. Which isn't but so worth the extra efford. I opened an old tank in my basement for the first time in four months today, after I just stuffed all kind of plants in, sealed it with shrinkwrap and left it by itself. No maintenance or anything.

Tillandsia harrisii is one of the very few Cites protected species. The inflorescence is about to turn red just before the flowers will pop open.

I don't have much room for my Tillandsia in winter so some things can happen without me noticing. But I just discovered this Tillandsia concolor I bought from Rainforest Flora early this year in time. What a pleasant surprise!

Tillandsia streptocarpa is in flower for several weeks now. I used it to cross pollinate it with two other hybrids. Cross your fingers and wish me luck. In about 8-10 years we'll see...

Snap from our garden last summer. This is only the second year since we planted this from an 8 inch pot. It is not supposed to flower the year after you plant it. This year it will inhabit several square feet just multiplying from seed. I can't wait to see it.

A submerged offset of Bucephalandra Blue Sword grown in my tank at 28 degrees water temperature. Some Bucephalandra can take these temps, most of them can't however.
