Dear Jen, dear Hendrik, since I knew that the mapapu was on its way to us, my excitement and curiosity was almost unbearable. How will the mapapu look like? Will it trigger some feelings? But mainly how will my son J. react to it – his own mapapu? I prayed every minute that the mapapu will arrive before we leave for vacation. It couldn´t have handled another 16 days waiting time. But yesterday I got a note from the mail company that the package will arrive today. Since we needed to leave for the airport at 11:30am I was worried that the package wouldn´t arrive on time... Today I woke up extra early not to miss the mail person. At 10:00am finally the package arrived. My hands were shaking as I opened the package and was overwhelmed! I immideately fell in love and can´t really describe my feelings.... Even now on the airplane, while I write this letter to you, tears run down my face. You are a gift from heaven and I thank God for getting to know you and your talent. I sat down with J. in his room and explained to him why I had the idea with the mapapu and that I want him to have mum and dad always with him. The mamapu should also give him comfort if needed. Then J. saw the mapapu for the first time and was totally excited. In the first moment I thought that a 12 year old might find this idea a bit childish but now I think this little stuffed animal found a way right to his soul. We hugged eachother and cryed for a little while... Since then he constantly thanks me for it and exactly this THANK YOU I want to pass on to you! You are incredible people! In every word you say, every line you write and in all the work you do, the love, soul and the bond is perceptible. For this J. and I want to say thank you! Yesterday a wonderful email from Tonja reached usand we are allowed to share with you! Thank you very much for that! --- Dear Hendrik, dear Jen, After waiting yesterday morning for the mail finally the package, I had been waiting for so long, arrived. Impatiently I openend it and when I saw our mapapu it took my breath away. It is so beautiful and I could directly see my mum in it. This was an incredible moment I want to thank you for! This mapapu is for my daughter though. She is only 17 months old and does not understand that her beloved grandma left forever, nor she probaly won´t understand the relation between mapapu and grandma. Therefore my expectations to her reaction were very low but I still was excited to see if she likes her new puppet. Or should it become more my soul comforter...? The more I was surprised when I handed T. her mapapu. There was a bright smile on her face and she hugged it directly. She has never done this before to any of her stuffed animals! Of course I directly started to cry... T. carried the mamapu around the whole day, talked to it and fell asleep with it in her arms. To cut a long story short: You have done an incredible work and filled our hearts with love for our grandma-mapapu. I don´t know how to say thank you for what you have done!?! But I want to encourage you in what you are doing. You are doing a wonderful job and one can feel that you love what you do. That´s why mapapus have such a special aura.
