Schauenburg Castle
Description
Schauenburg Castle is a ruined hilltop castle in Oberkirch, Germany. It is 367m above sea level. Originally built by Duke Berthold II of Zähringen, it is now a tourist attraction.In recent years, the Castle has become a tourist attraction and is around 2 km from the Oberkirch Station. To the west of the castle is a moat and the east is protected by bastions. After multiple cases of destruction, believed to be in 1686 during the Nine Years' War, the castle is now a maintained ruin which is still owned by the barons of Schauenburg. Due to the efforts of Emil von Schauenburg, the ruins and remains of the case were able to obtained.
