Low viscosity – high driving safety Safety takes priority! For modern control systems such as ABS, ESP® and ASR to react in fractions of a second, they need low-viscosity brake fluid. The hydraulic units of these systems contain multiple holes and very thin ducts. The brake fluid must be able to flow quickly and smoothly through them. DOT 4 LV and DOT 5.1. from Textar improve driving safety significantly with their particularly low viscosity. DOT 4 LV can be used for vehicles with ABS, ESP® and ASR. It delivers an exceptionally quick response in all systems. New to Textar’s product range is DOT 5.1., which is used especially for vehicles with ABS. It allows fast pressure build-up and reduction in accordance with rapidly changing braking requirements; has a high wet-boiling point, and is particularly suitable for heavy and high-performance vehicles. #Brake know-how Did you know? The arrangement of the cooling fins on a brake disc is not an indicator of their moving direction, as is often assumed with radial or turbine-like cooling fins. Counter-rotating right-to-left brake discs are common, and do not have any adverse technical effects. But beware! Particular applications (specified by the manufacturer) may require brake discs to be directionally fitted. You can find the details on the packaging label. The installation side is marked with an R for right or an L for left. #Textar

Less brake noise with Q+ Less noise when braking! All thanks to the innovative and enhanced Q+ damping shims from Textar. Since they were launched last year, a large proportion of our brake pads are equipped with the new damping shims (now available at retailers!). Their innovative textile-like structure effectively dampens and decouples the brake lining from the other brake components. The specially developed adhesive, which also acts against high-frequency vibrations, has a major effect on the damping function. Lightening the load in the workshop Ever feel that the technical challenges and flood of information in the workshop are increasing? Textar’s practical online catalogue “Brakebook” assists you in your work, and now has some useful new features. You can now access visually adapted brake disc drawings, which have been supplemented by additional information. These illustrations include information like weight and minimum thickness, as well as illustrations of screws, if included. More than 750 brake disc drawings have been updated to date, which corresponds to a coverage of around 95 per cent of sales volume.
