Kamalashila Institute® for Buddhist Studies, European seat of the 17. Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje The Kamalashila Institute® belongs to the Karma Kagyu lineage, one of the four big schools of Tibetan Buddhism. As such it is the European seat of H.H. Karmapa Urgyen Thrinley Dorje. Our centre is under the spiritual guidance of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.
Apart from visits by numerous Tibetan lamas throughout the year, we offer regular courses in meditation as well as Buddhist philosophy, which are carried out by various European and American teachers.
We are very happy, indeed, that we have two well-qualified resident lamas here at the Kamalashila Institute®: Acharya Lama Sonam Rabgye and Acharya Lama Kelzang Wangdi, who conduct and give guidance and instructions during the daily meditations and besides offer various courses over the year. Both lamas also welcome everybody who may need personal advice for their spiritual practice, in which case we kindly ask you to make an appointment in advance.
