Über: Im Mai 1943 zerstörten Lancaster-Bomber mit Hilfe einer neuartigen Rollbombe die Möhne- und die Edertalsperre. Das Museum informiert über das Ereignis, Hintergründe, Folgen, Opfer, Piloten, Film (1955) und mehr.

Das Museum, ein gemeinnütziger Verein, existiert seit dem Jahr 2000 und liegt momentan leider 2 km von der Edertalsperre entfernt - siehe Karte.

Dieses oder nächstes Jahr werden wir ein neues Museum nahe der Sperrmauer errichten - größer, moderne Ausstellungskonzepte, ein 1:1-Nachbau einer Lancaster in der großen Halle, weitere Exponate... Sobald Peter Jackson die Story neu verfilmt, werden zusätzliche Besucher kommen. Momentan sind wir im Prozess der Gründung einer wirtschaftlichen Betriebsgesellschaft sowie der Finanzierungssicherung.

Notiz: Wir verabscheuen Nazis, sind keine Waffenfetischisten und keine Revisionisten. Herr Oliver Köhler betreibt einfach ein Museum zum Ereignis an der Talsperre; ich (Michael Schmidt) kümmere mich momentan darum, Kapital für den Neubau nächstes Jahr aufzutreiben sowie um das Online-Marketing.

Background: In 1943 a raid by british Lancaster-bombers destroyed the Möhne- and the Ederdam. The museum covers the event, background, results, victims, pilots, the movie and more.

At the moment, the small museum is located at a "disadvantageous place" 2 km from the Ederdam (see map above). In 2013 or in 2014 we plan to erect a new museum near the dam. The "new" museum will will feature a 1:1-Replica of a Lancaster (yes, it will be huge...), a 88-Flak-cannon, screens in several languages, films, dioramas, a flight-simulator, documents... Once the movie by Peter Jackson will be remade, attendance will skyrocket. We are in the process of founding a company and aquiring funds.

Take note: We despise Nazis, we are not crazy about weapons, and we are not revisionists. Mr. Köhler simply owns the museum; me (Michael Schmidt)/ I am looking to secure funds for the new museum and cover online-marketing.
