DOD Social Media User Agreement: http://www.ourmilitary.mil/user_agreement.shtml The mission of the Marshall Center is to create a more stable security environment by advancing democratic institutions and relationships, especially in the field of defense; promoting active, peaceful security cooperation; and enhancing enduring partnerships among the nations of North America, Europe and Eurasia.

The Marshall Center conducts a variety of unique programs involving to date officials from more than 110 countries. Most programs are taught in English and Russian. The center's resident programs have a long-term academic focus while its non-resident programs focus on current issues and problem solving.  Graduate support specialists work to maintaining contact with and support more than 60 percent of all Marshall Center alumni.

Our 47 participants in our Seminar on Regional Security completed their three-week program today. With them they take not only the knowledge and fundamentals of regional conflict management and resolution BUT the trust of dozens of professionals that they can rely on in the future. Bundesregierung Head of Division for bilateral relations to the countries in Central, East and Southeast Europe, Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus Knut Abraham was today's keynote speaker. He was introduced by our #German deputy director Brig. Gen. (retired) Johann Berger. We'll have a larger story soon about this class and what they accomplished here. Today was the final day of the Transnistria Peace Talks Exercise. The “Normalization of #Transnistria” exercise results took place today with the Heads of Delegations’ presentations on the way-ahead for this frozen conflict. Ambassador Douglas Griffiths, acting as the OSCE – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe moderator, listed 10 items from his experience for the participants to think about not only for the exercise but also for when they return home. The 48 participants from 25 countries are portraying five sides to this conflict: #RepublicofMoldova, #Transnistria, #Russia, #Ukraine and #OSCE, while Marshall Center Faculty portraying European Union, and the #UnitedStates. About 40 Bulgarian #alumni of the Marshall Center gathered in Sofia April 19 as part of a Alumni Programs’ Outreach Networking Event (ONE). The group heard presentations from Dr. George Sharkov, coordinator for the National #Cybersecurity of #Bulgaria, and Professor Todor Tagarev, of the Bulgarian Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, on the cyber dimension of #hybridwarfare and efforts to increase resiliency against threats coming from Bulgaria. The #Marshall_Center regularly organizes visits such as this one in order to keep its #alumninetwork up-to-date on the work of the Marshall Center and to bring together national alumni communities. Participants are portraying four sides of the frozen conflict: #RepublicofMoldova, #Transnistria, #Russia and #Ukraine, while Marshall Center Faculty are portraying European Union, OSCE – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the #UnitedStates. This is what is known as the “5+2” format that has been used for this frozen conflict.
