Technische Universität München Graduate School (TUM-GS) is a central academic institution at TUM. It promotes structured training for doctoral candidates, and collaborates with the degree-awarding institutions at TUM to provide the best possible supervision.
As of 2014, all TUM doctoral candidates are automatically part of the TUM-GS, and benefit from extensive qualification and continued education programs as well as target group-specific services and advising.
The TUM Graduate School is organized into Graduate Centers for degree-awarding institutions and interdisciplinary, interdepartmental Thematic Graduate Centers.
The Graduate Center Weihenstephan (GZW) supports graduate students within the TUM School of Life Sciences.
GZW graduate students benefit from diverse offers and consultations:

Who is the best supervisor in Weihenstephan? In 2018, the TUM Graduate Council introduces the Supervisory Award, which awards the best supervisor at TUM. The Supervisory Award is endowed with a prize of €5,000. The winning supervisor must spend the prize money to the benefit of his or her doctoral students. Doctoral candidates can nominate a supervisor (Postdoc to Professor). Last week 30 doctoral candidates and master students joined the Career Lounge of TUM Alumni & Career and GZW. As shown in the picture, our members of the podium shared their experiences in their work lifes in a moderated discussion. Afterwards, everyone had the possibility to ask individual questions about strategic career development, pros and cons of careers in industry/university and learn about the daily working lifes of our experts in small groups. The evening was closed by good conversations and a drink in the GZW Lounge. Our guests liked it, our experts as well, so maybe the series will continue in 2018.
