Caline Aoun is Deutsche Bank’s “Artist of the Year” 2018. She will present her first major solo exhibition at Deutsche Bank’s new forum for art, culture and sports at the Prinzessinnenpalais in Berlin in autumn 2018. Born in Beirut in 1983, Aoun belongs to a generation of young Lebanese artists who grew up and completed their education abroad after the outbreak of the civil war in 1975. We congratulate Caline and look forward to her first big exhibition in Berlin next year.
The 2017 Sports Scholarship of the Year went to Theresa Stoll! The award, sponsored by Deutsche Sporthilfe and Deutsche Bank, helps top athletes combine high-level competitive sport with a course of studies. Theresa, who came second in the 2017 European Judo Championships and is also studying medicine, will receive double her Deutsche Bank sponsored monthly grant as a result of winning this award.
