Wir haben es uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, mit einem traditionellen Segelschiff ökologisch nachhaltig, emissionsfrei und fair Ladung zu transportieren. With the help of a traditional cargo sailing ship we have taken it upon ourselves to offer sea transport that is ecologically sustainable, emission free and fair. Our ship, the AVONTUUR, will be sailing from Europe across the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, through the Panama Canal and further across the entire Pacific Ocean and the South Sea Isles all the way to Australia where she will pioneer a permanent liner service between ports along the Queensland Coast and the World Heritage Area Great Barrier Reef. With our ship we will demonstrate that sustainable and economically fair sea transport under sail or other alternative means of propulsion is possible today and is more than ever called for to reduce the environmental damage caused by world wide sea transport based solely on the use of fossil fuel powered cargo ships.

Unser Schiff, die AVONTUUR, wird von Europa über den Atlantik, die Inselwelt der Karibik, den Panamakanal und schließlich durch die Südsee und den gesamten Pazifik bis nach Australien segeln, wo wir einen festen Liniendienst zwischen Häfen entlang der australischen Küste im Bereich des Weltnaturerbes Great Barrier Reef einrichten werden. Wir werden mit unserem Schiff demonstrieren, dass nachhaltiger und wirtschaftlich fairer Seetransport unter Segeln und alternativen Antriebsmitteln möglich und heute in zunehmendem Maße notwendig ist, um die durch den weltweiten Warentransport mit Frachtschiffen verursachten Umweltschäden mittelfristig zu reduzieren und langfristig ganz zu vermeiden.

Hot work at the workshop! Klaus, Dutch Ben and Peter the bos'n forging the inner strap of our peak halliard blocks! No rest until we can bend, set and trim our sails to start our journey powered by wind and the enthusiasm of our supporters! Both inexhaustible, clean sources of energy! Auch die Piefall Blöcke machen wir selber. Klaus, Dutch Ben und Peter Bootsmann schmieden die Beschläge. In zwei Wochen kommen die Gaffel Segel und wir werden bereit sein, sie anzuschlagen. Nur noch ein paar Wochen und unsere 'cargo under sail' Reise wird beginnen. Angetrieben vom Wind und der Kraft unserer Unterstützer. Beides unerschöpfliche, saubere Energien!
