KuA is a organization dedicated to educating and inspiring for Love, Peace and Rock’n Roll through making inter-cultural film workshops. Kultur & Art Initiative has been established 9 years ago and is an
intercultural and intergenerational non-profit association with
members from different nations, age groups and with different careers
who have got work experiences in media production, education and media
education for many years.

Kultur & Art Initiative organise  "the International Short Film Festival Detmold"  at Hangar 21 in Detmold.

Our aim is to produce projects with people from different origins. Our
concept is based on contents of social and intercultural integration.
We want to work against the passive culture consumption with active
culture work. That is why we offer participants of our events creative
and project-orientated opportunities. We also offer young people media
educational workshops and international youth exchanges. In this
context we arrange projects together with the EU.

Till this day, put ten EU- “youth in action”  1.1, 1.2,  3.1 youth exchanges and EU
Leonardo, Grundvig projects into practice. We work together with many
schools and arrange “culture and school” projects. An EU Comenius
project with the Karla-Raveh-Gesamtschule in Lemgo has been in
practice since 2008.

Up-to-date: JVA Herford – film project. Detained young people process

their biographies in the jail in Herford, Germany within music (Hip-Hop) video projects – good and bad things, inflexion points.

The Kultur & Art Initiative develop and implement art and culture
projects in this region and abroad. We cooperate with Nordrhein
Westfalia, Detmold, the culture team of City of Detmold, LWL, Federal
Foreign Office, the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, the Hochschule für
Musik Detmold, Line K, local radio communication and television and
some local associations.

This association provide offers for extracurricular youth work,
including media educational advice, workshops, performances, support
doing projects and getting ideas. The offers are at no charge and are
suitable for everyone who is interested.
