Robbrecht en Daem
LECTURE on 18.01. at 6.30pm by PAUL ROBBRECHT, Robbrecht en Daem Architects, Gent: "From the start, the duo composed of Paul Robbrecht and Hilde Daem has worked to develop an intense vision in terms of colour use, measurements and materiality. This entirely idiosyncratic ‘architectural language’ lends their realisations a large degree of ‘autonomy’: they stand out from the (built) context through material, seriousness and precision. For Robbrecht en Daem, architecture is not something ephemeral, but something that gives the user a sense of being enveloped, a sentiment of protection and comfort."
impossible architecture by filip dujardin
LECTURE on 11.01 at 6.30pm by FILIP DUJARDIN, architecture photographer, Belgium: "dujardin’s photomontages are a collection of impossible structures created using a digital collaging technique from photographs of real buildings. Most of his architectural creations are structurally implausible, however, seem perfectly ordinary at first glance, revealing their absurdity only as the viewer notices missing or incongruous details." - designboom
