Rheinwanderung
Rheinwanderung an Pfingsten Unsere Wanderung von der Loreley nach Kaub führt uns über 16 km durch die malerische Landschaft des Weltkulturerbes Mittelrheintal. Die reizvolle und teilweise anspruchsvolle Strecke geht über steile Hänge sowie durch Weinberge und Wälder. Neben dem weltberühmten Felsen der Loreley, von dem aus, einer Sage nach, die Nixe Loreley mit ihrem Gesang Schiffer ins Unglück stürzte, kommen wir auch an einer der vielen Burgen vorbei, die die Landschaft prägen. Aussichtspunkte und Gaststätten werden immer wieder Gelegenheit zur Rast geben. Nach einer Übernachtung in der Jugendherberge Rheinsteig geht es am nächsten Tag mit dem Schiff auf einen kurzen Besuch in die kleine Weinstadt Rüdesheim und am Nachmittag von dort mit dem Reisebus zurück nach Bochum. Information: Hin- und Rückfahrt mit dem Reisebus. Übernachtung mit Abendessen. Geeignetes Schuhwerk für die Wanderung, eventuell ein Rucksack, genug Verpflegung und Wechselsachen sind empfehlenswert. Preis 40€ (regulär), 35€ (mit ESNcard) Anmeldung im International Office (SSC 1/225) bis 22. Mai 2017 ___________________________________________ Rhine Hike on Whitsun Our hike from Loreley to Kaub takes us about 16 km through the picturesque landscape of the world cultural heritage Mittelrheintal (Middle Rhine Valley). The wonderful but partly challenging trail goes along slopes and cliffs, through vineyards and woods, as well as the famous rock of Loreley from which, according to legend, the nymph Lorelei sang to riverboat men causing their death. We will also pass one of the many castles of the region. Various sights, viewpoints and restaurants will offer enough opportunity to rest. On the next day, after a night at the youth hostel Rheinsteig, we will go by ship for a short visit of the small city Rüdesheim before we go back to Bochum in the afternoon. Information: Journey there and back by coach. Overnight accommodation with supper. Appropriate footwear and perhaps a rucksack, enough snacks, refreshments and clothes for changing are recommended. Bewerbungstraining für internationale Studierende (nur in deutscher Sprache) In diesem Kurs geht es um die Stellensuche in Deutschland und um die Besonderheiten deutscher Bewerbungsverfahren: • Stellensuche (Vorstellung von deutschen Webseiten für Studierende und Young Professionals) • Bewerbungsunterlagen (Optik, Umfang und Inhalte, Darstellung der persönlichen Motivation und Qualifikation, die Bedeutung von Bewerberfotos und Zeugnissen) • Vorstellungsgespräch (Ablauf eines Bewerbungsgespräches in Deutschland, Erprobung kurzer Gesprächssequenzen) Zusätzlich erhaltet Ihr Informationsmaterialien, die ein selbstständiges Nach- und Weiterarbeiten ermöglichen. Application training for international students (in German language only) This course deals with the search for employment and addresses special features of German application procedures: • Search for employment (introduction to German webpages for students and young professionals) • Application papers (design, extent, content, presentation of one’s personal motivation and qualification, the importance of application photos and certificates) • Job interview (procedure of a job interview in Germany, practice of short interview sequences) In addition, you will get information that offers you the opportunity to work and practice on your own. Today the city of Bochum celebrates Europe and invites everyone to be a part of it! Starting at 2 pm with a market of opportunities in the foyer of the Volkshochschule (VHS). The International Office will also be there with a stand and lots of information on the Erasmus programme and the 30th anniversary celebrations. At 4:45 pm, there will be talks on different topics on Europe and music at the Christuskirche at the Platz des europäsischen Versprechens. At 7 pm at the Konrad-Adenauer-Platz in the Bermuda Triangle the master degree European Culture and Economy (ECUE) of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum will be awarded with the “Europabanner” of the Europa Union. Guided Tour at Zeche Zollverein
Don’t have plans for the weekend yet? How about a trip to the world heritage sight Zeche Zollverein in Esse? Every year about 1,5 million guests from all over the world come to Zollverein which houses various cultural events, opportunities for free time activities and an academy of arts as well as many young enterprises. Take part in the guided tour on Saturday, 13 May. Metting point at the Bochumer main station at 11:30 am.
