Borosa Acoustic Levitation
Description
To cover the newest requirements for experimental setups we use a contact-free method (acoustic levitation) to study samples in a freely floating mode. Investigations of samples should be consistently performed precisely, realistically and contamination-free. In particular, the study of phase change processes and formation of particles requires a sophisticated experimental setup.
Therefore we use a non-contact method, which can fix samples in a standing acoustic wave field. This tool is called an acoustic levitator. The great advantage is that you can study test substances contact-free under different pressure and temperature conditions of up to 20 MPa between -20 and +180°C.
Applications range from the determination of physical data to particle formation. You can investigate phase change and mass transport processes without any wall-effects.

Some Great Impressions of the EMSF 2016 Meeting in Germany!
Our parents have made the best investment! Their children! We say many thanks to our parents for their patience and much Love for Mother's Day!
Heyhey! Don't worry! We are still on Planet Earth! This photo was taken in Oberhausen Gasometer! There is a beautiful exhibition about Nature. It seems like the Earth was levitating in the big Gasometer. Wow!!! What a huge acoustic levitation device 😃best regards and see you next monday on the emsf conference! Byebye Team BOROSA
We are going to make a contribution to global challenges by participating in the 15th European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids (8 - 11 May 2016, Essen, Germany) More information: http://emsf2016.com/
Happy Easter!!!
The Acoustic Levitation Seminar was held last monday! We have learned how samples can be measured and observed by x-ray analysis! Dr. Emmerling from Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung in Berlin gave us a very detailed focus on the x-ray analysis of crystallization processes! The topic of the next Acoustic Levitation Seminar will be Raman Spectroscopy! We will inform you on time about the date for the next seminar. Participants from left to right: Ms. Natalie Keil (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg), Dipl.-Ing. Marc Wittner (KIT), M.Sc. Fynn Mißfeldt (TUHH), Dr. Franziska Emmerling (BAM) Best regards Team BOROSA
We are very proud to show you a combination of Raman spectroscopy and our L800! We want to thank Dr. Andreas Bräuer and M.Sc. Julian Schuster from SAOT, Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, for their unbelievable work and patience! Thank you very much!!! Finally, we can surely say, that our acoustically levitated droplets can be measured by Raman spectroscopy. So, it is possible to measure the droplet volume and the concentration of the droplet simultaneously! And everything contact-free even under high-pressure conditions. If you are interested in our results in detail, please contact us!!! Best regards Team BOROSA
