Dear SOUNDS Lovers, Friends, and Guests, Thank you so, so, so much for all your incredibly kind words, generous donations, and outpouring of support over the past month. While it has been incredibly difficult dealing with the aftermath of the fire, all of you have had a tremendous impact on us as we move forward and we truly can't thank you enough. This will be our final message as we end donations and, before we go, we wanted to give you an update on how the money has and will be spent and what our next steps are. Over a third of the money we've raised has already gone to our staff to help them as they transition into other work and, along with the money, we've connected them with some opportunities so they can get back on their feet as quickly as possible. The remaining two thirds of the money we've raised we are holding in anticipation of any costs or legal fees we may be required to pay. Sadly the process is unfortunately very slow and we lost more than €30,000 in what was destroyed so we are still at just the start of us being able to move forward. For the moment we have neither the funding, equipment, or place to start a new space but hopefully once all the dust is settled we can begin the process of starting something new. In the meantime we're still planning and throwing events, working with local DJs and artists, and getting the word out about the Queer underground. The strength and resilience of our community is astonishing and we know no matter what comes next it's going to be bigger, bolder, and Queerer than ever thanks to all of you. Again, we can't thank you enough for all of your incredibly generous donations which will really help us as we sort everything out. Our sister space KAKE is still open at Ziegrastr. and if you haven't been we highly encourage a visit, especially as they've taken on some of our programming. Dear SOUNDS Lovers, Friends, and Guests, We regret to inform you, with great sadness, that unfortunately an electrical fire broke out over the weekend which has ravaged a majority of SOUNDS. We are beyond thankful that no one was present, hurt, or injured in the incident and we are incredibly grateful to our neighbors for aiding in the situation as it happened. We want to deeply thank all of you for your continued support of SOUNDS over the last year. Given the circumstances, we don't anticipate being able to reopen in our current capacity but our dream of a safe, Queer space lives on in our sister space KAKE but even more importantly in you and we truly hope you keep that dream alive no matter where you are. As you are hopefully aware gentrification, income inequality, and LGBTQ+phobia has had an astounding effect on our city in recent years. More and more clubs are closing and safe spaces for Queer people are disappearing. In creating SOUNDS we had hoped to counteract these changes and we made a huge effort to make a truly safe space but, as with many things at the margins of society, we were subjected to unsafe conditions which have led us to our current situation. This is unacceptable and we all deserve better. We must demand more from the parties, spaces, and people we involve ourselves with. We must act collectively to preserve this beautiful Queer community we have worked so hard to build. We must continue to create spaces, situations, and environments where ALL Queer people can be themselves and feel safe. We are raising money now to help cover the costs of recovering from this disaster, support our staff in this interim period, as well as hopefully provide enough funding for the creation of a new space. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, as is spreading the word, and you can click the link below to donate or share. Our hope is to rise from the ashes and, just as before, we can't do it without all of you incredible people who've made SOUNDS what it was over the past year. In the meantime, always remember to support Queer spaces in your community, engage in the political process to make our Queer utopia a reality, and take care of each other. Saturday we're excited to present Krisko Kisses // Never Misses by the incredible Victor Kubin, a Queer night of hi-fi music that will have you bumping and grinding until the sun rises. The weekend is here and we're getting ready to burn it up on the dancefloor! Tomorrow we're beyond excited to present PISTA Keyla, a collaboration with São Paulo's Pista Coletiva! We'll be showcasing the Queer Underground of Brazil and Berlin in this crossover extravaganza so come ready to boogie. Saturday BRENN. is back next door which means we're bringing back SOUNDS like BRENN. for another wild kiki. Get reduced entry with a stamp from BRENN. (and vice versa) and make it a twofer, just be ready to werk that dancefloor! Sunday we are closed because we'll be at KAKE celebrating our very own Dennis, Dan, and friends The Coven of the Magic Bump. Tonight at our sister space KAKE the legendary Olympia Bukkakis and Cheryl Offoffoff-Broadway return with Cheryl & Olympia CAN HOST!, a talk show with no need for guests because these queens have PLENTY to say. Expect laughs, drinks, and leftist politics! Friday we are closed but you can take that time to check out our upcoming CSD party The HIGH Society | CSD Edition. We're teaming up with some of our favorite collectives and venues for an alternative CSD extravaganza that will be full of surprises and, of course, SOUNDS DJs. Saturday we welcome U T O P I E - Francesco farfa, who's bringing leftfield techno and house that's sure to mix it up on the dancefloor in an underground experiment that will have you moving all night long! Sunday we are closed but there's no better time to take the after to the lake, or at least your neighborhood Volkspark. See you on the dancefloor!

Tonight at our sister space KAKE we're providing the laughs with Standing OUT #4 - queer comedy night, come through for stand-up by and for the queer community. Friday it's getting spooky at Two Years of Heaven's Gayte: a Séance for Melitta Sundström! The séance starts at the witching hour then its Goth, EBM, and Synthwave all night after so don't forget your Ouija Board. Saturday tropical sensation Ceremony 09 returns and they're bringing the heat for you to work it out on the dancefloor all night. Sunday our beloved Sunday Club is back with a special Pfingstmontag edition! They're starting later and going longer to help you enjoy the long weekend with us at SOUNDS. See you on the dancefloor!

The weekend is coming up and we're going bigger, bolder, and more 69 than ever with Studio 69 Megamix: 1 Year Anniversary! We're teaming up with two other clubs to bring you a queer Summer block party extravaganza across 16 hours and 12 DJs in our most ambitious event yet. If you haven't been to the Studio yet now's the time to whet your appetite for 69, we'll see you on the dancefloor!

Next weekend we're teaming up with the other clubs at Ziegrastr. and kicking off Summer in style with Studio 69 Megamix: 1 Year Anniversary! We're serving you 10+ DJs across 16 hours in 3 clubs for a queer underground extravaganza, brought to you by our very own Studio 69. Tonight at our sister space KAKE Bookake: Vol. 2 returns for the second edition of their queer literary society and they'll be taking you to (Susan Sontag's Notes on) Camp. Thursday SOUNDS and KAKE are teaming up with queer surrealist showcase An xtra Peachy Masquerade Ball followed by WHORE MOANS. Come get cultured AND have a cheeky dance at our first ever Thursday event! Friday and Satruday it's a techno double-header with Equilibrisme #4's left-field experience and Sieistguterjunge #3 FLINT* extravaganza respectively, pop by for a different take on techno. Sunday we are closed, but don't forget next week on June 1st we're teaming up with two other clubs at Ziegrastr. for Studio 69 Megamix: 1 Year Anniversary to kick off the Summer in style so save the date.
