One bedroom self-contained Gite/Cottage with a pool Ok so the adventure started in 2007...its been a long journey but the one bedroom self-contained Gite/Cottage with a pool, 5 miles from the centre of Cognac in the village of Salles D’Angles is open and ready for rent!!! Perfectly positioned to access the amenities of the village by foot which include a Patisserie for daily made croissants, cakes and French breads; a well-stocked Village store and post office.
Salles D’Angles is at the centre of the Grande Champagne region lending its name to the prestigious Cognac drink. Tours are available with the big Cognac houses but the village offers a number of local producers who are welcoming with open days, tours of their distilleries and tastings; giving visitors a real sense of the skill and pride the vines bring to the region. Whilst the village boasts a number of wine (including organic wine), cognac and pineau producers, we also have an ostrich farm within a 10minute walk which offers visits and the opportunity to purchase this exotic meat.
The region offers lots to do including kayaking and fishing on the Charente, a golf course, numerous castles, Chateau and churches and is within easy reach of various beaches, islands and historic cities.  There are also many, many festivals held throughout the summer, including the famous Blues Passions at Cognac (July) – a period of free concerns as well as big-name performers in the main Park.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            All bed linen, and towels are provided. We also supply a welcome pack of goodies on your arrival to avoid the need to rush off to find a supermarket which includes fresh baguette, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, fruit juice, butter, jam, eggs, and some local wine.
