facebook.comThis is the perfect time of year to visit Mont St Michel before it gets too busy. We parked in the town and walked the 2km along the canal and across the newly built 2,500 ft bridge that replaced the causeway in 2015 separating the island from the land for the first time in 135 years.
The musee d'arts de Nantes re-opened in June 2017 after 6years of renovation.We finally got to take a look this week. It has a great collection from primitive to modern art and was well worth the visit.
The Breton countryside can be very beautiful ,even in November!

Une bonne promenade. In Dinard we walked along la promenade du Clair de lune , an easy walk alongside the river with views across to StMalo followed by retail therapy in the town ,
Landerneau in Finistere has an excellent Picasso exhibition. Finishing on November 1st there is still time to see more than 150 of his works. Not to be missed.
Head to Lorient for the Festival Interceltique. Open until the 13th through the streets to the port you will find food ,drink, music and all things Breton,Irish,Scottish and Cornish. We tried our first coiffe brioche ,olive and cheese coiffe cone filled with chopped tomatoes dressed salad and feta ,yummy . Dont forget your kilt!
For those interested in comics, movies and superheros the current exhibition at the Art Ludique museum in Paris is highly recommended. The evolution of DC is shown in great detail; from the comics in the 1940s to the latest movie representations of our favourite childhood characters. There's lots of original artwork and movie costumes together with interesting insights into their evolution.

We took a trip to the coast to take a break from the 30 degree heat we have been enjoying. La Pointe de la Varde is close to St Malo.We walked from Parame to Rotheneuf along the coast stopping for lunch on the beach to take a look at the 150 year old rock carvings and then cutting back through the countryside to see a manoir belonging to Jacques Cartier the frenchman who discovered Canada, 8 km 3 hours.
Just testing Rennes for the market ,to make sure we aren't missing anything!

Vannes is becoming one of our favourite cities. We go to the market almost every Saturday; it's great for Bio/Organic vegetables. If you are going to stay for lunch, L'ilot Galette on Place du General de Gaulle is our top recommendation!
